At present,Face recognition is a challenging task since involves excessive techniques,such as pattern recognition,intelligent control,machine vision and so on.How to use the database to manage face image has been a hotspot.With the development of database technology,in order to meet the needs of new application fields,an object-relational database technology has appeared.It not only can manage complex data,but also can provide the complex query functions.It is inherited from the relational database technology,and increases the characteristics of object-oriented,so that the object-oriented technology and relational database technology closely integrates.This article is based on the deep study of object-relational database and face recognition pretreatment and feature extraction.By making full use of the fundamental characteristics of object-relational database,it proposes a method which uses object-relational database to manage and query human face images.This method firstly pretreats and extracts feature from each human face image,then stores human face images and their eigenvectors in object-relational database,The purpose of extracting eigenvectors is to make prepare for the following enquiries of face images.When querying human face images,we calculates the Euclidean distance between human face images' eigenvectors,and takes the distances as the basis for matching.Through this article's study,it shows that using object-relational database to manage complex data and provide complex queries is very effective.
