Negative electron affinity gallium arsenide (GaAs) photocathode has many virtues, such as high quantum efficiency, low dark current, concentrated electrons energy distribution and angle distribution, great potential to extend the long-wave spectral response waveband and so on, and because of its super performance, during the past decades its development is very quickly, and therefore it is widely used in low-light-level night vision.In the research of the GaAs photocathode, whether we own the effective measurement methods to analyze the data nor the monitor means to control the equipment will deeply effect the process of the research work. This dissertation deeply explores the techniques of Surface Photovoltaic on GaAs photo-electric cathode. Some important contents are summarized below:First, the dissertation briefly introduces the current development state and application of GaAs photocathode,and study the statement of measurement on the GaAs photocathode between national and foreign, and analyze the feasibility and advantagment of the techniques of Surface Photovoltaic on GaAs photo-electric cathode.Second, the dissertation briefly introduces the structure and activation of GaAs photocathode, and concrete description parameters,also introduces the current measurement of parameters. while emphasizes the techniques of Surface Photovoltaic,with the theory of Photovoltaic response of GaAs photocathode is studied in detail, the dissertation narrates the measurement conception of description parameters such as diffusion length of GaAs photocathode.
