The waveguide multi-layer memory is a new type of three dimensional optical storage technology. Combining the technology with the optical card, we put forward a new concept of waveguide multilayer optical card (WMOC). The main research contents of this thesis contain a molding methed to fabricate the WMOC, the process of the two-dimensional code technology realized in WMOC and the improvement of the readout system for the WMOC.According to the principle of WMOC and the method of data recording, A method of fabricating the WMOC using the molding technique is introduced, by using the molding method 10-layer optical card sample is fabricated and its detecting result is demonstrated; The WMOC fabricated by this molding method has high spatial resolution and large capability, and the process is simple and propitious to mass production. It's monolayer data density is about 2MB/cm~2 , which approaches the CD level.During the process of the two-dimensional bar code technology realized in the WMOC, the information which needs to be recorded is designed into two-dimensional Data Matrix Code through coding software. Several data recording methods are experimentally and expored in monolayer. An interception algorithm based on the data page in the image of waveguide multilayer optical card is proposed to solve the key problem of reading optical card's information and ultimate decoding with great accuracy.Based on the foundation of the readout hardware system for the WMOC, the movement of the precision motorized stage is controlled by the computer through Visual Basic language in software. A control panel is designed to get the layer address and the page address through which the position of the motorized stage can be changed.
