Electron cyclotron maser originated in the late 1950s, the high efficiency of the new high- power microwave radiation sources demand a single-tube swing of the device in- mm-band should have MW power output level, and multiple be used. Under high-power, the wall will inevitably generate a lot of Ohm Heat, cooling devices to cool down has caused great difficulties, which could lead to the whole of the normal operation can not even have been damaged. Effective solution is to use large volume cavity, but a large volume of the cavity at the same time has also brought negative impact on other aspects, such as the levy spectrum change-intensive, highly competitive mode, the module will be serious competition mode interference. Can solve the cavity heat, but also an effective way to curb the mode of competition is using large volume coaxial cavities. Due to the inner conductor in cylindrical cavity, mode spectrum will turn to be thinning near operating mode. From now on the international view of the article, the main research work on the 140 GHz and 170GHz, which has given structure and the mode of choice, provided a good reference value for the 220 GHz coaxial cavity.This paper research the theory of coaxial cavity which operated at 220GHz in order to provide a theoretical basis for design of coaxial cavities. The paper on the following issues related to the theoretical exploration:From the linear theory discussion relationship and difference of characteristic roots and field profile in cylindrical cavity and coaxial cavity, then derived in the high-frequency coaxial waveguide distribution. Calculate the current start-up and preliminary analysis model competition.Self-consistent nonlinear theory applied based on linear theory will be better studied. Discussion of electronic efficiency and effectiveness of the device on the impact of several important factors theoretical analysis, as far as possible, improve the efficiency of the device. According to the actual situation, we considering the speed of discrete and electron beam eccentric efficiency of the electronic at last.Finally, we apply Magic process simulation work which consistent with the theory of nonlinear results.
