| Wireless Mesh network is a kind of network with high-rate and high-capability, and it's also is a new type of distributed network to solve "the last mile" problem, which we can consider it as the simple version of Ad hoc network. Recently years, because of the high demand of wireless voice and date services, especially high-date-rate Internet services, WLAN gets well development. But the propagable scope of its AP is limited. So, lots of APs must be arranged if we set WLAN in a large area, which has to increase the total cost. Fortunately, Wireless Mesh network can improve this situation. Nodes involved in it can transfer data and doing, which can well expend the propagable scope. Base on this, the article studies the routing protocol in wireless Mesh network. This paper firstly introduces the basic definition, structure, key technique of the wireless multi-hop Mesh networks. Recently, Mesh becomes research hotspot because of the great application. Then, the routing protocols of wireless mesh networks are introduced in the paper and we can conclude that they don't do well in wireless Mesh network. It's known that the 863 project "Research of Ad hoc internet technology and its experiment system" proposed a multi-layered Ad algorithm called Kernel Tree Routing Protocol. Compared with other network topology, the logical tree topology well solves the problem of loop-less routing. Simultaneity, this solution decreases the cost of routing algorithms and makes the networks to be built easily. So, the main idea improving the KTRP and apply it to the Mesh is gotten. Finally, combining with characteristics of less motion and update slowly of APs, this paper proposal a new protocol called Mesh Adaptive Tree Protocol (MATP) based on the KTRP by adding Neighbor Node and efficient handling of single point of failing. MATP inherits the strongpoint of KTRP and also improves the topology structure to complete the self-optimized of Kernel Tree and to enhance the capability of network. |
