Because of its extraordinary capacity and diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system has become the direction of future development of wireless communication systems. In the past decade, techniques for MIMO system, such as space-time coding, spatial multiplexing, and precoding technology, have received extensive research and made significant progress. This thesis studies several techniques in the framework of MIMO, including multi-user downlink precoding. The transmitter-based linear precoding technology can simplify the receiver, therefore this paper manly focus on MIMO downlink system of pre-coding technology. This paper mainly focus on: MIMO technology which belongs to the spatial diversity of diversity technology (time diversity, spatial diversity, frequency diversity), linear precoding technology, based on the deeply study on the wireless fading channel model, such as LOS channel, NLOS channel, the correlation channel, as well as the most typical channel-----Rayleigh, Ricean channel, constructs MIMO wireless fading channel model, systemmodel and the system of linear precoder which can constrain MIMO wireless communications system interference issues in the different standards and different channel characteristics. Different types of linear precoding performance are investigated and compared in the above system. The theory and simulation reveal that the mean-square errors (MSE) of linear transmit filters are similar as that of the respective receive filters. Moreover, transmit Wiener filter has the best performance with different Ricean K factor.
