CMOS imaging system is usually consisted with four-part compositions which are the camera,image sensor,image processor and power, CMOS image sensor and image processor are the core components of CMOS imaging system . As an imaging system, the goal of digital image processor is to make the quality of the digital image best. This requests to use the special-purpose image processor which handling ability is more formidable , and needs to use the better imagery processing algorithm.This paper briefly introduced the work rules and the structure of the CMOS imaging system. Raises the importance of image processing algorithms; introduces the basic functions of the image processor, Elaborated on how to realize the reconstruction of primitive image real color, the color correction, the auto white balance, smooth, the contrast gradient stretched, the gamma adjustment and the color space transforms, processing and so on automatic focusing, describes the algorithm of Hardware Implementation , briefly introduces the image processing algorithms and simulation FPGA functional verification process.At present, these algorithms have been verified by the FPGA hardware, the image has achieved very good visual effect. Certainly, to design the algorithm must in guarantee under the high performance-to-price ratio premise .In brief, the design of digital image processor also is in the unceasingly improvement process, but also has some question needed to be solved , it will be able to be consummate further in the future.
