Along with the high development of wireless communication in business, the miniaturization of electron equipment becomes a very important problem. So, develop high performance and miniaturized microwave filter is a hot topic in nowadays.This thesis summarizes the techniques of microwave filters' miniaturization, and design a new types of aperture-coupled multilayer microstrip filters by circuit simulate and filed simulate, in order to satisfy the demand of reducing size.The main works are as follows:1.The thesis systematically describes the theories that form the foundation for design of microwave filter. The topics will cover transfer function, lowpass prototype filters, frequency transformations and so on.2.Introduce the basic structure and characteristic of the Open-loop resonator,slow-wave and SIR resonator which used widely in practice. The character of SIR and slow-wave resonator can be used to design widen stop band filter.3.Some examples of filters are designed for special requirement. Multilayer structure can be used to design Chebyshev, elliptic function and so on. The effect of the frequency-dependent coupling on the filter responses has been investigated, and this issue will be addressed. Some simulation results and measurements are given, which agree well with each other. By comparison, size reduction of about 50% can be achieved.4.The paper describes the history and concepts of LTCC, and presents the theory of designing LTCC filter. Also some kind of LTCC filter has been simulated, which have a good result.The research productions of this thesis have much reference value on the filter miniaturization, improve the performance of stop band. The filters have compact size and good property. At last the study is a new try, there are also some questions need to be solved in future.
