Image tracking system has been widely applied in various military equipments, always carrier-based or onboard, while rarely on armored vehicle. Besides, it is the optical-mechanical observing system that is fixed on most of our armored vehicles at present, which is far from meeting the battle need. Therefore, it is a necessary tendency to applying image tracking system to armored vehicle for the development of observing system on vehicle.This paper studies on the target detection, recognition and tracking techniques on vehicle. It also investigates the realization of real-time hardware platform based on dual-processor, and accomplishes the development task of this project.The primary contributions of this paper are:①Constructing system mathematical model and bringing out the tracking equation according to the analysis of system task and tactics-technology target. In order to solve the tracking equation, the state of system is divided, Then, based on the description of each state, the paper constructs the basic function structure of system.②Presenting a target image extracting method in complex scenes which integrates fraction and feature matching technique and so on. Firstly, this paper brings up an improved Snake model and applies it to construct initial template; secondly, it introduces Fractional Brown Random Field Model and works out the possible target regions by fractal dimension and fractal fitting error; thirdly, it defines a new Minimum Mismatch Distance (MMD) similarity measurement, and proceeds quick correlation matching based on the feature region of target in order to extract target from possible regions.③Designing the dual-processor parallel processing hardware platform with digital signal processor (DSP) as nucleus, combined with PC 104 embedded computer. The paper discusses function module division of system hardware and concrete design of hardware module; it specially introduces the design thought of realizing system bus arbitration and logical control by large-scale FPGA chip; it also gives the intellectual program loading technique of DSP module and its implement method, which embodies the intellectualization level of this system.
