Machine vision is an active and challenging research field, its research and application areas spread widely. Machine vision technology is a rising integrative science technology, which is the last word referring electronics, mechanism, optics, computer and communication technology, and which is the most important part of high tech field. With the target of meterage using laser, this paper discusses the technology of camera calibration, calibration arithmetic and image processing.First, we establish camera calibration model through basic geometry model of stereo vision. There are linear calibration model and nonlinear calibration model in camera calibration techniques, since the camera lens used in machine vision sustain a lot of nonlinear distortion. In the situation of being measured exactly, the distortion of camera lens should be considered. Then we study on the camera calibration algorithms. Based on the conventional calibration algorithms, the paper brings forward a new two-step calibration method based on the Radial alignment constraint(RAC).Based on establishing the camera calibration model, we design the calibration experiment, which can work out the unknown camera parameters through the target coordinates, target image and the calibration model set up above. In the experiment, we use an aluminous plane target object. The coordinate of the targets are obtained with the 3-dimendion-measuring instrument. Simultaneously, for the sake of testing the precision of the system, we use laser as the target to calculate the 3D coordinate, which can be compared with the measuring coordinate. The paper also analyzes the cause of the error.The vision measurement system brought forward in this paper is proved to be feasible through experiment, which builds the foundation for the farther research. With the development of the work, the binocular stereo vision system with laser token will acquire a satisfying performance. This technology will be widely used in more and more industry.
