Oil Tube And Rod Laser Length Measuring System Developed And Improved

The length of downhole tubing and sucker rod must be precisely measured when oilwell maintenance or special measures are proceed in the oil field, in order to determine the operational site of down-hole equipment, aim to untapped oil layer, confirm the oilwell maintenance or special measures to work well.The traditional tubing and sucker rod length is often measured and calculated manually, so the precision is low and error rate is high. It usually reduces the success ratio of oilwell maintenance and badly affects oilfield exploitation.On the basis of careful inspection of domestic and overseas tubing and sucker length measurement and the laser length measurement technology,a system of tubing and sucker rod length measurement based on the single-chip computer was developed with the combination of hardware and software features of the MCU production and the actual status of oilwell maintenance in the oil industry.A series of technical work such as hardware selection, data communications, data processing, error analysis has been finished. According to the the actual results of this system, in order to further improve the accuracy and simplify the process of measurement, the original system was improved by using the Windows CE-based PDA as a core, with the combination of embedded technology and bluetooth communication technology .In the new system, the length of tubing and sucker rod was collected and achieved by laser measuring instrument under the control of a PDA, and was tranfered to the host computer. The measuring errors can also be corrected by the new system .Moreover, the system has developed a complete set of data-processing software for the automation management of datas of tubing and sucker rod.The research and development on this system will greatly promote the precision of tubes and rod length measure in the oil industry, improve the management of the petroleum tubes and rod length data and service to oil production powerfully.
