With the development of computer technology and image technology, flow field technology develops fast. PIV is a untouch technology grows in last twenty years. It is an undisturbed measurement technology with great outlook in future.This paper studies Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and its image measurement techniques in propellant application system. High speed video gets digital images of particle moving experiment, picks up particle information. Then Studies and realizes particle matching of series pictures. Through a lot of image processing we could get velocity and track of moving particles, flow shape of flow field.This paper realizes many arithmetic of different image processing first, gets the arithmetic of experiment image through comparing of those arithmetic. Then do the ununiform lighting emendation and improve the particle matching arithmetic which could reduce processing quantity and advance veracity. Finally, comparing the data of experiment with the data of theory then could get the correct gene. That could prove the feasibility of this particle image velocimetry system in this paper. This would be help to PIV application study in measuring velocity flow field and good for farther analyze.
