Biometric authentication is a recognition technology that using the special physical or behavior features of mankind belongings. It provides a way of identity authentication with high reliability and stability. Face detection and recognition is a branch of biometric recognition that gained most people' interest, It is one of the most active research aspect of computer vision and pattern recognition. This paper to low resolution pictures that taken by the mobile phone camera, researched out a method of auto-face detection and recognition algorithm under all kinds of background and status identification, and apply these method to the mobile phone, thus can enhance the phone's safety.To the colorful images gained by the mobile phone camera, we transform it to gray images which have the intrinsic features of images; to the gray images we get, proposed a face detection method based on Independent component analysis and polynomial neural network, in the process of independent component analysis, we make some update to the FastICA estimate algorithm, which can decrease the number of Independent bases and enhance the process velocity. To the face we detected, we adopted Baysian theory to carry the authentication and recognition, this method using the principle component analysis of the image feature, gained the principle component feature of the variation image between the detected face image and the phone master image, using high dimension Gauss density evaluated the conditional probability density of intrapersonal variations and the conditional probability density of extra-personal variations of the principle component of variation image. To the variation image, carry the Baysian post identification to make authentication and recognition. Experiments show that the face detection and recognition method can detect out the face images of complicated background. Which has high the detection effectiveness, And the recognition algorithm is reliable and fast.Analyzed the image features that taken by mobile phone camera, given the total thoughts of face detection and status identification based on those technologies, and designed a face detection and status recognition and identification system. Through this system the mobile phone can detect the face of user and identification the phone master automatically, thus can avoid the phone used by unwarranted people, Can promote the safety performance, protect the holder's private information, and possess broad application and better economic benefits.
