Along with the development of integrated circuit design and manufactoring, many more difficulties appear when producing chips, especially need of lower power, smaller sillicon area and design re-use.Bus Bridge is used for spanning between different bus architecture; solve problems of conversion between different bus protocol, synchronization between different clock frequency, etc. This dissertation introduces a bus bridge IP Core which can be used on chips of mobile digital equipments; this IP Core realizes the transition between Cardbus and AHB.At first, there is an introduction of two kinds of bus architecture: Cardbus and AHB. Analysis of similarities and differences between these two kinds of bus system is an important step when designing a bus bridge; hence, there is a particular comparation between these two bus protocols.The dissertation describes design technology and classification of IP Core. Also, design steps of re-usable IP Core are introduced.In part of IP design, this dissertation describes macro-architecture and ananylize the characteristics of bus bridge architecture. Pins' function and timing is described, and trade strategies are also introduced. Afterward, modules of the IP are expatiated. AHB Master, AHB Slave and Configuration space are parlicularly introduced.Besides, synthesis report is given. At last, building of testbench and testcases are briefly introduced, along with the result of EDA verfication.
