Moving target detection and tracking technology in video source images are used in many fields, such as industry control, military affairs, traffic management and satellite measurement and control. Speacially, in military affairs, the technology based on image moving target detection, tracking and pointing from image sequence has been one of the key technologies which have been used in many advanced weapons. In recent years, with the improving requirements from the military and others, there are a great of research interests in studying of the detection and tracking technology of moving target from image sequence in complex background.The main contribution of the dissertation is the whole studying of the detection and tracking technologies of moving target from image sequence in complex background. In this paper, the problem of detecting and tracking moving target from the image sequence is divided into four parts; they are the digital image pretreatment, the moving target detection, the target tracing and the scheme of system design. Meanwhile, every part has been described in detail and many theoretical and experimental results have been analyzed.In the dissertation, many important results which bring from new ideas are achieved and listed as the following:1. A new approach to improve quality of digital images based on adaptive propagation rule was suggested. The method uses adaptive propagation rule to get local spatial information, then, use this information to enhance the image contrast. Theoretical and experimental simulating results showed that this method could get better image quality than other methods, and reduce computational complexity.2. For moving target detection, a new method impoves the tradical moving targest detection based on background estimation for complex scene, the new algorithm adds time similarity measurement, solve the influence of target speed in moving target detection.3. For the tracking work, based on moving target detecting, in this method, first, make template, then find a match template with multiple resolutions. And update the template if necessary, while predict the moving parameters through karlman filter. So the problems of keep-out target, sensitive detailed pixels and computational complexity are solved.4. A scheme to detect and track moving target from image sequence is proposed. It upgrades the precision of tracking and anti-jamming ability of detecting and tracking system through using multi-model composite detecting and tracking and taking the input of multiple sensors into account.
