As an innovative technology to access and operate information, wireless sensor network (WSN) is drawing more and more attention domestically and abroad nowadays. Thousands of smart sensor nodes composing WSN is a dramatic advance on sensor usage. Although a single sensor node can work independently, its capability of sensing, processing and communicating is very limited. So sensor nodes have to collaborate to fulfill the task. There are three kinds of collaboration: resource collaboration, tasks collaboration, and signal and information collaboration. The tasks collaboration, which means tasks description, decomposition, allocation, scheduling and execution, plays the most important role in the collaboration of WSN. Furthermore, tasks description and allocation, as the main focus of this thesis, are most significant component of tasks collaboration. The main purpose of this thesis is to extend network life cycle with optimizing the allocation of tasks to reduce the volume of communication between nodes in order to decrease energy consumption. In the collaboration algorithm of this paper WSN is divided into clusters in which collaboration strategy is built. This thesis makes following contributions:1. The research status of collaboration in WSN is reviewed, and the popular collaboration scheme based on multi-angents theory is carefully studied.2. A energy-efficient distributed dynamic clustering algorithm is proposed based on the idea of dividing large-scale network into sections that was proposed in Organization Design. And a content-oriented node scheduling algorithm is applied to select work nodes in this paper.3. A task description algorithm named level-mapped task graph which is a combination of Directed Acyclic Graph and Role Graph is presented through the study on common tasks description methods. After the analysis of service level, cluster-head level and node level, the original tasks are disassembled into atomic tasks which could be identified and executed on nodes.4. A communication-based optimization of task allocation algorithm is proposed. In this algorithm a cost function is designed to caculate the enengy consumption in task implementation. On cluster head, tasks are allocated on a tasks nodes set which is built through negotiation among cluster members,...
