Firewall Key Technology Research And Hardware Implementation

With the development of the Internet, the most important problem outstanding in the process of information and network is network security. Firewall technology has been one of the key technology in the research of Network security from its appearance till development. Having its background in obvious network security problem, the paper makes a deep study of the theory and the key technology of the Firewall system. Based of those, we designed a Firewall platform based on network processor.Firstly, the thesis illustrates the current situation of network security and the importance of its study. Secondly, we analyze the present development of the firewall and put forward the development of the firewall briefly. Finally, we concentrate on giving the conception, function and classification of firewall. According to the different kinds of the firewall, we research thoroughly some key technology, we detailed introduce the design rules of the packet filtering firewall and the operating principle of stateful inspection firewall. Through those researches, we put forward the design plan of the firewall platform based on Intel network processor, then we give the designing ideas and designing principle in different modules of firewalls and the method for the implementation of PCB design .we finally complete the expected design. At last, we give the test reports of the designed system to verify the feasibility of the design and the credibility of the system.The design project and design production we put forward have been already extended to the firewall's market and have got considerable benefit.
