Network Security Mechanisms Based Firewall Technology Research

With the continuing popularity and application of computer and network technology, network security has attracted more and more people's attention. Firewall technology has become an important component of Computer network security architecture system. The author found some bugs of firewall, though in-depth analysis and using some of firewall products. Then some points about the bugs were advanced. According these points, the author improves on the technology of firewall.In the first the paper summarized the concept and content of network security, explain the importance and severity of network security and introduce some main defense technologies, then bring out the concept of firewall. Second, clarify the function, principle, structure of firewall and popular firewall products then bring out firewall's development trends. It made detailed explanations to Sky net firewall system, FortiGate virus firewall and some other firewall systems. Again complete the defense of the common prevalent attacks in the specific environment of a firewall product, given specific security strategy. After this , the Author found some of the firewall's bug by conducting an in-depth analysis to these attacks which are prevalent in the current network, by amending the firewall modules to defense various attacks.In this paper, through inspecting books, network articles and making test which is based on kernel of firewall, the author found the firewall's bugs. Aim at these bugs, the firewall's function was consummated, through amending the firewall modules. Firewall filter better the harmful data from external not trusted network, so that it can protect the security of internal network.
