Computer optics has been one of the most promising subjects of the modern optic technologies, due to the fact that computer optical elements gain the advantage over traditional optical elements on many fields, such as beam shaping, optic image processing, optic communication, optic interlinkage and so on. The design theroy and optimization algorithm have been researched in this paper. A computer optical elements design information processing system software has been researched and developed.First of all, the design theory of computer optical elements is detailed analysed, especially the scalar quantity diffrative theory and several important optimization algorithms in this area are emphasized. A new algoithm based on GS algorithm has been brought forward, which is employed to resolve the phase retrieval problem. The accelerated method of solving non-linear equation with fixed-point iteration algorithm is introduced into the GS algorithm, and the method of discontinuous phase replacing is also applied to the new algorithm in order to improve GS algorithm. The new algorithm is less sensitive to iterative initial value, provided with higher iterative convergence efficiency and can search much more accurate results in broader solution space than GS algorithm. Two computer optical elements are designed by the new algorithm, one of that is used for Gaussian beam shaping into flat-top square beam, the other of that is used for Gaussian beam shaping into flat-top semicircular beam. The computed results indicate that the Sum-square error of the computer optical elements designed with the new algorithm dropped by 29.23% and 20.63%, while the coupling index increased 0.65% and 0.77% compared with that designed with GS algorithm.Secondly, with the programming of modularizing hierarchy design and object-oriented design, a computer optical elements design information process system software is researched, which bases on the new algorithm we have set up before. The Microsoft Visual C++ and MATLAB as the development tools are chosen to develop the system, which is provided with manageable interface, strong plot function of two-dimension and three-dimension, fast run speed ,characteristics of transplant and expansibility. The function that users can design different computer optical elements with this system is the most important improvement compared with traditional simulation method. So it provides an effective and low cost tool for the computer optical elements design of simulating, that is fit for request of real time and dynamic in the future.Finally, using the system that has been developed, a series of simulation experimentations are presented. The study and analysis of the simulation results show that the system are accurate and efficient.
