Chinese-Korean has considerable amount of differences from Korean as they went through different historical circumstances. Since China established diplomatic relationship with Korea in 1992, the contacts between two countries have increased significantly and Chinese-Korean played a major role in substituting Korean language. However, the previously-existing differences between two languages didn't allow smooth communication. This study, therefore intends to analyze Chinese-Korean from Korean's view and to compare the differences of two languages. As analysis is concerned, about 850 sentences were selected from 'Yeonbyeon Daily News' (Jan. 2005 & Jun. 2006). They were categorized for more specific analysis and the two main categories are 'Vocabulary Section' and 'Sentences Section'.'Vocabulary Section' deals with the characteristics of vocabulary, 同形异意 语 and names of people and places that are influenced by Chinese language. The distinct features of Vocabulary part are wide usages of Chinese, like pronouncing through using the Chinese letters or words, using the vocabulary combined with phonetic and meaning from Chinese and Korean languages, using Chinese phonetic in Korean language and 同形异意语, and etc.'Sentences Section' compares each sentence according to political, economic, social, cultural aspects and elaborates on the influences of each aspect. The distinguishing character of this section is simplification of sentences, repetition of descriptive words, diverse combination of words, various forms of sentences and peculiar usage of a postpositionaland the ending of a word. These are major features that differentiate Chinese-Korean from Korean.Particularly in sentences related to politics, it was found that the political system affected the usage of words. Consequently the forms of sentences were changed and the variations of words influenced the language as a whole. In the aspect of sentences related to economy, the variety of words as a result of combination with Chinese, foreign languages and native language were discovered. In terms of society, the native language of Chinese-Korean was dominantly used and in the format of sentences, the simplification phenomenon of sentences was not as much used as in sentences of other aspects. Lastly, in sentences regarding culture and life, various features were discovered due to the effects of Chinese, foreign languages, Korean, and etc. It was noticed that sentences got diversified and as a result, new forms of sentences appeared. These features of Chinese-Korean language show that it went through considerable changes. Accordingly this book will trace the reasons of main variation of Chinese-Korean in historical and social aspects. In historical aspect, the period will be divided into immigration, establishment and development. In the meantime, in social aspect, cultural, geographical, educational and national reasons will be specified. The aim of this book is not only to compare two languages, but also t o minimize the distance that separates them. Hopefully, this study will help to facilitate more smooth communication and finally contribute to t he development of the languages.
