Chinese Newspapers Criticized The Reported Status Quo

In China, critical reporting has been acting as the significant supplement of positive publicity in the contemporary media system. But the government media administrative bureau and the news media themselves need to give more thought to critical reporting when facing problems and conflicts appearing in the social transferring period, the higher requirement of press supervision from the public and the voice-freedom advantage of new media, On one hand, correct negative-news concept should be erected; on the other hand, social facts and the people's situation should be reflected to a larger extent on the condition that the social stabilization must be assured. Newspaper criticism has held the traditional advantage in the news criticism in China. Therefore, adopting the research method of content analysis, through sampling People Daily, The China Youth and The Nanfang Weekend, this paper analyses the actuality of the newspaper critical reporting in China, points out the deficiency and put forward some suggestions which are expected to be of reference in improving the newspaper criticism and even the whole news criticism.
