So far, most of the publications concerning singular optics deal with monochromatic waves. More recently, singular optics has been extended to polychromatic cases by Professor Wolf and his co-workers, in which they have showed that drastic spectral changes occur in the vicinity of intensity zeros in the focal region of polychromatic, spatially coherent, converging spherical waves, i.e. the spectrum is redshifted at some points, blueshifted at some other points, and is split into two peaks elsewhere. The theoretical analyses show that the phenomena of drastic spectral changes were also found in Fraunhofer diffraction of a circular aperture and Young's double-slit interference experiments. One of the important tasks in my dissertation is to investigate Fraunhofer diffraction pattern of a polychromatic, spatially coherent wave diffracted by an annular aperture. The phenomena of spectral anomalies in the vicinity of the Airy rings in Fraunhofer diffraction pattern are investigated in detail. The effect of the parameters of the annular aperture on the spectral changes is studied particularly. When people detect the spectrum of light source, the detector is usually placed in a distance from the source. Therefore, when the light reaches the detector, it has actually experienced some processes such as propagation in free space, focused by lenses, diffracted by aperture etc. Studying the influence on the normalized spectrum in these processes not only has a theoretical meaning, but also has an applied one.Furthermore, in recent several years, people have generated considerable interests in the high order Bessel beams. These beams also called'non-diffracting'beams. In the past years people have made plenty of research both theoretically and experimentally and have found a number of practical approaches for generating high order Bessel beams. Another important task in my dissertation is aimed at studying spectral anomalies of focused spatially fully coherent polychromatic high order Bessel beams. The mathematical formulae for the spectrum and the spatial intensity...
