High-power millimeter wave device is an important direction of high-power microwave (HPM) technology. While relativistic diffraction generator (RDG) is a high- power millimeter wave device which is an important and has better future device. The relativistic diffraction generator with reflector is investigated on PIC simulation and experiment in this dissertation.The high frequency system in RDG that we study is complete overmoded SWS, and the diameter of waveguide is much larger than the wavelength inspired by the device. The energy will couple in the region of diode and decrease the output power, if there is no reflector placed in front of the SWS at the end of beam injection. In order to decrease the energy of microwave that input diode and increase the output power of the device, a coaxial reflector is placed in front of the SWS at the end of beam injection. Firstly the parameter of reflector is calculated by software CST. Secondly, the influence of reflector on device is studied by PIC simulation. At the same time the influence of the cavity in front of slow-wave structure and the length of a smooth drift tube which connect two sections of slow-wave structure are also studied in this dissertation. Lastly, many experiments are done on the base of simulation. Output power, frequency, mode and pulse shortening phenomena of the microwave radiated from the device are analyzed during the experiment. The energy of microwave radiated from the device is calculated.The main job is the following:1. The parameter of reflector is calculated by software CST.2. The device, relativistic diffraction generator with reflector, is investigated on PIC simulation, and the influence of reflector on this device is discussed. The influences of the clearance in front of slow-wave structure and the length of the smooth drift between two section slow-wave structures on the work of RDG are discussed too.3.
