Radio wave is the tool of information transferring. Frequency is one of the most important characteristic parameters of radio wave, which means the presentation times of a wave in a unit time. How frequency changes with time is the thing designers concern most. The importance of frequency measurement is easy to see.The precision of frequency measuring is a significant guideline when a signal is being measured, which equals the square root of frequency measure error. In the information environment of radar there are some signals such as regular and binary phase modulated pulse signal and linear frequency modulated signal are used widely. A high-resolution method for frequency measurement is strongly introduced in the paper, which is aim at detecting the frequency of regular and binary phase coding modulated pulse signals with high frequency precision. Considering the popularity of linear frequency modulated (LFM) signal in electronic systems, this paper then referred a Radon-STFT arithmetic to calculate the carry frequency of LFM signal. Both of these methods referred above are implemented in the signal IF detection software. Through the signal IF detection software some testing samples are released in the article, which proves the correction of these methods. The IF detection software is developed under the platform of Lab Windows/CVI, which is a NI product, because the powerful ability of Lab Windows/CVI, it is widely used in the domain of automatized measure and control. This paper also makes a quick introduction of Lab Windows CVI.
