Java Platform For Digital Tv Middleware Design

Digital television middleware is one of the most important techniques of digital television system. It is a kind of system software that resides between the application and the underlying operation system. It can shield software developers from low-level platform details by providing a set of standard application interface for digital television. Now, digital television gets more and more manufacturer's attention. The research on digital television middleware in the oversea has gained some evolvement. However, it has been done little in our country. So, the research and development of our own digital television middleware have an important academic and applied significance.Based on the EICT's (East-China Institute of Computer Technology) project"The DTV middleware", this thesis mainly focus on the further research of Java platform among them. In this thesis, the position and function of Java platform in the model of the DTV middleware has been briefly introduced. The system structure of Java has also been studied. On the basis of analyzing the implementation mechanism of Java AWT especially, the thesis has presented a scheme porting AWT to Fltk Graphic library and has offered a complete implementation on embedded Mircowindows window-system.The thesis presents the complete process of project research including proposition, analysis, design, coding, test and implementation, etc. Main research contents and achievements are spread out as follows:1. Giving the research of the system structure of the DTV middleware. The paper has introduced the criterion of the DTV Middleware and the position and function of Java platform in the model of the DTV middleware.2. The system structure of Java has been given further research. Especially, the composition structure of Java API and implementation mechanism of Java VM have been analyzed. These are basic content of the project.3. The paper has detailedly analyzed the important part in the design of Java GUI programe——AWT.
