Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (Bistatic SAR) uses separated transmitter and receiver flying on different platforms, which has several advantages like ability to obtain rich information, long operating distance, high security, capability of anti-jam, et al. All these advantages make it hot in international researches in recent years. The geometry and signal models of Bistatic SAR are built firstly. Based on these studies, the properties of Doppler and resolutions are analyzed. Because the imaging algorithm of Bistatic SAR is related to the geometry models, the dissertation gives particularly empathies on the parallel model and the static receiver model in the broadside side-looking and stripmap .The imaging algorithm of Bistatic SAR is discussed. The theory of RD algorithm and BP algorithm is studied. The RD algorithm can only work on the classical two- order range model and has low computation load. The BP algorithm was adapted any track model but it needs high precise INS data and has great computation load. The quality of images focused by the BP algorithm is much better than RD algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate the correctness of the two algorithms.RD algorithm needs Doppler parameters estimation. The simulation indicates that the traditional method can be used under some particular models. The dissertation also analyzes and compares every kind of algorithm's superiority and applicability. For chirp waveform, the dissertation proposes the DCFT to estimate the Doppler parameters. Due to the antenna, the estimated precision of the Doppler center isn't good.The platforms'motion is complex and the motion compensation is difficult. The last Chapter gives the motion errors model, and then analyzes the affection of the motion errors. For the reason that the every kind of motion errors was presented in the phase errors, the dissertation discussed two ways to compensate the moving errors.
