The main content and achievement of this paper are listed as follows:1. According to inspection system's technical requirement, its overall design plan is put forward, including its hardware and software design scheme.2. Researching on feature extraction of surface image defects, including state feature,grey-scale feature,textural feature,projective feature and fractal feature altogether. On the basis of state feature,grey-scale feature,texture feature and projective feature extraction,in order to getting a better recognition rate of flash defects, we have done researching on the fractal feature especially and its contribution to defects recognition.3. Researching on the edge detection method of surface image. After using the edge detection operator for the preliminary abstracting, a series of extending work,such as grey bivalence,thinning,noise reduction and compagination have been done.
