The paper is written according to merged scheme put forward by union technique work group of national terrestrial digital television broadcasting. Aimed at the characteristics that multi-carrier transmission is sensitive to frequency offset and require high synchronization performance, firstly multi-carrier OFDM technique is introduced, the influence of synchronization offset to OFDM system is analyzed and two kinds of typical synchronization methods are given based on pilot and CP in the paper. Then time domain synchronization including symbol, frequency and carrier synchronization algorithms is discussed according to the characteristics of frame structure in merged scheme. At the same time, pointed out its merit that high rate of spectrum utilized and rapid synchronization retrieved. And simulation and much improvement are done to realize the algorithms in project. At last, FPGA designs of symbol and frequency synchronization are completed. The paper is organized as following:Chapter 1. The development and status quo of digital television broadcasting are introduced and the prospect is expatiated on.Chapter 2. The influence of symbol, frequency and carrier offset to OFDM system is analyzed according to OFDM principles and typical sync methods are given.Chapter 3. The framing structure, channel coding and modulation in merged scheme are introduced in detail.Chapter 4. Synchronization technique in existence standard is introduced firstly and time domain synchronization algorithms in merged scheme are discussed. Then simulation and CPE after FFT are completed.Chapter 5. The FPGA realization of symbol and frequency synchronization is described and its results are given.Chapter 6. The paper is summarized.
