Grid Information Service (GIS) is responsible for information discovery, registration, query and update in grid environment and it provides actual,real-time and dynamic information of grid resources and services. However, with the development of global grid system, and the resources provided are becoming more multiform and distributed, in this environment, grid information security should be considered as an important aspect in grid computing. Especially, invasion from outside and information authenticity are two big problems. On the other hand, grid application is not spread all over the world, but Web Services is popular today, and we know UDDI plays the role in Web Services as same as GIS in grid. So, we should consider the communication between GIS and UDDI.According to the above problems, a new grid information service pattern which combines the digital certification and RBAC technology is proposed in this dissertation. Users should provide digital certification when they want to publish or manage the service information and they can finish their operations just when they pass the validation. In such way, SecureGIS confirms the authenticity of service information and ensures the privacy of the private grid service in a certain extent. Furthermore, the SecureGIS has adopted the UDDI registry to store grid service and web service information, and manage them in the unified way.At last, a prototype system of SecureGIS has been developed to test this framework. In the context of a simple dynamic call based on information service, the server side and the client side have been realized. The prototype system shows the characteristics of both security and compatibility, and validates this new grid information service pattern.
