The traditional Computer Aided Design system is very efficient on building engineering drawing and 3D entity model, but it does not satisfy the designer who often encounters modification and choice in the conceptualism design phase. Since year 1963, the CAD system has gone through four significant technology innovations. Intelligent CAD is the fourth innovation, and automatic geometric reasoning is the core of intelligent CAD, which is automatically construct a geometric graph that consists of a given set of geometric entities and satisfying geometric constraints between the entities by computer. There are four major approaches to automatic geometry reasoning: numerical approach, symbolic approach, rule-based approach and graph-based approach.In the rule-based method, it is highly important for the foundation of rule-base which is used to the deduction. In this paper, we designed an implementation for computer-aided design with parallel technology. This paper presents a new approach to geometric reasoning for rule-based parametric design using the thought of blackboard model.The algorithm classified rules in the rule-base by different use, such as conformation reasoning rules, implicit reasoning rules, default reasoning rules and so on. Furthermore, the whole deduction of geometric constraints is controlled under the control strategy. So, it can improve the efficiency of the foundation of the rule-base. And, that makes the parallel reasoning come true.The concept presented here has been implement, and experiments with an implementation of this approach have indicated that the computation of the model is faster than before.
