High current electron gun(HCEG) is an important component and significant to performance of microwave and millimeter wave tubes. Today, computer CAD is a usual method in HCEG's design. This tusk is done by program constructed by appropriate method. So, this thesis talks about electron trace modeling by investigating method of calculating electromagnetic field, mathematic model of modeling electron trace, and how to program. A electron trace modeling program, VBGUN has been programmed using FORTARN language. The work and novelty of this thesis includes the several aspect following.1.Particularly investigated the mathematic model of boundary integrating equation method and the constructing of matrix equations, including dispersing boundaries, compartmentalizing grids, voltage calculating and reserving.2.Using a new method, virtual boundary element method (VBEM) to electromagnetic calculating. This method, same as boundary element method (BEM), need not analysis all the field area, and need not specially deal with no closed in boundaries. Future more, VBEM has advantage in calculating speed, and can avoid singularity integrating being predestined in BEM.3.Proved VBEM mathematically, and derived the essential terms that the virtual boundary must satisfy.4.A electron trace modeling program, VBGUN has been finished by VBEM.5.The theory results about virtual boundaries in VBEM has been validated by field calculating results using VBGUN.6.Using VBGUN for small electron gun preparatory design, the following parameters were accord with the necessities.
