This thesis introduces the design of a material management software system. During the period to design a diploma project, on the basis of real job, the software has been designed base on the J2EE platform. The technique belongs to J2EE that the software has been applied is the EJB technique. The whole process includes requirement analysis, framework design, programming language, IDE(integration design environment) and the step to design.In this thesis, the process of design has been researched and introduced. The main content of this thesis are as follow:1. Why the system have been adopted the three tier framework? The main content conclude that the theory of three tier framework, the advantage to adopte this framework, and the way to make the framework into realization.2. The theory of J2EE platform. The main content conclude that the technique characteristic of J2EE platform.3. The technique characteristic of EJB module, the range to apply the EJB technique, the way to design.4. How to choose the design environment. Include the theory of network database,IDE and server.5. The way to make out the whole project. Begin with modeling , the process has been described, include that building the database ,seting up the files directory structure, building the project and EJB module, and so on.6. A function module of the software has been showed to explain the programe. Setting the server, connecting with the database, design the EJB module and interface with IDE, and so on.In this thesis, the theory has been integrated with practice by a example. The process along with programming, the thesis has showed the way to achieve the purpose of the material management system.This thesis shows the process that how to use the knowledge to solve actual problem.
