Modulation Classification (MC) and Blind Receiver Design are extremely important both in commercial (such as software defined radio) and military (such as and electronic warfare) communication systems. The two problems are addressed in this paper. An MC algorithm for digital modulated signals is proposed, with a wide recognition range and a high classification probability. A blind receiver is designed for linear digital modulated signals. The receiver can estimate all the parameters needed for demodulation using blind estimation algorithms and recognize the modulation type using the MC algorithm proposed above. All the algorithms are verified using simulation experiments. There are 5 chapters in this paper. Chapter 1 is an introduction to MC and digital receiver technology. Chapter 2 represents the basic theories and algorithms for MC. Chapter 3 introduces the MC algorithms for digital modulated signals. Chapter 4 designed a blind all digital receiver for linear modulated signals with all the parameter estimation algorithms. The performance is verified using a real QPSK signal. Chap 5 is the summary and prospect of MC and blind receiver technology.
