In this paper, a technology of controlling the beam-direction and beam-width of linear loudspeaker arrays is researched in terms of the theory, simulation and experiment.Firstly, we summarize the characteristics of the directional pattern and lobe pattern of phased array antennas and analyze the factors of influencing the directive property of linear loudspeaker arrays. Secondly, we use Matlab to simulate the directive property of beam-width, side-lobe and beam-direction of linear loudspeaker arrays in different parameters such as the frequency of input signal, the number and distance between elements and the signal delay. At last, we design an experimental system including signal source, power amplifier array and loudspeaker array. Some experiments of the directive property of loudspeaker array are completed. The results researched in this paper show that it would actively direct audio in desired directions and locations by using loudspeaker array and controlling the signal delay between the loudspeaker elements. |
