The combination of OFDM with space-time coding has received much attention recently to combat multipath delay spread and increase system capacity over wireless links. In MMO-OFDM systems, channel parameters are needed in order to coherently decode the transmitted signal. In this paper, we discuss the principle of MMO-OFDM system based on the introduction of fading channels. Furthermore, the channel estimation technique in MIMO-OFDM system is investigated, with the emphasis on training sequence assisted and comb-type based channel estimation methods, and several estimation algorithms are given respectively. In 4G(fourth generation mobile communication systems) research, traditional Matlab/Simulink based architecture-level design methodology has a slow simulation speed and can not be closely identified with the hardware implementation. In allusion to this problem, a SystemC based architecture-level design methodology is presented in this paper and the SystemC modeling of MIMO-OFDM system is also given in this paper. Finally, the analysis and verification of the above channel estimation algorithms is made by SystemC simulation.
