Neural network is a new technology which developing very quickly since the beginning of 20 century. For its strong ability of non-linearly, self-study and parallel information process, it attracts many scholars and technologists to study neural network control. And a lot of achievements have been obtained. In this thesis we do some research on the development of neural network control algorithm. This algorithm has been simulated and practically applied in phytotron illumination control system.The thesis consists of five chapters. In chapter one and chapter two, the basic circs of the project and its design scheme are presented. In chapter three, the currently development of neural network and some typical neural network model and algorithm are introduced. The structure and algorithm of BP network model are discussed. After analyzing the shortcomings of the general BP algorithm, several improved BP algorithm are provided. The theory and structure of neural network PID controller are introduced in detail. In chapter four, with the requirement of phytotron illumination control system, the neural network PID algorithm of illumination control is presented, and the result of simulation and application of this algorithm are analyzed. Chapter five introduces the software design scheme of monitor system. The focuses are paid to the power-losing protection, communication scheme and error control method. Chapter six introduces some problems and solving method in debugging. Chapter seven summarizes the task and effect of this project.
