With the rapid development of computer and internet, the amount of information increases with geometric speed. More and more information begins to be processed and delivered by the internet rather than the traditional manual way, especially for some financing information, which has the characteristic of magnanimity and real time. How to deliver the useful information to clients in a secure way in the first time by fully utilizing the internet technology is confronted by the ISP inevitably. Based on this background, this thesis introduces the research of building a message delivery system (Message Center) on enterprise portal site.To apply message Center into reality, this thesis introduces both research and development of Message Center System from requirement analysis, system design, technical choice, coding implementation, security consideration, and performance improvement. On top of that, the technical essence and challenges of enterprise portal message delivery system are analyzed and summarized. Certain most popular products and technologies supporting rich client, network security, message delivery and storage, and performance optimization are researched and experimented. The final prototype system not only implements most of the business requirements, but also provides users with rich experiences. Meanwhile, the prototype system can also be seamlessly integrated into my.statestreet.com portal. The user will benefit from its strong ability of handling massive message data. The foundation for the work in development and appliance of enterprise system is provided. In the first chapter of this thesis, the background will be introduced as well as the research motivation and the main content.In the second chapter, the related technology and system used in this thesis will be summarized and analyzed. They bring forward idea and approach to the Message Center system addressed in this thesis.In the third chapter, the business requirement and architecture design of Message Center will be introduced, including the considerations of the requirement and design, architecture and the main processing flow of the system. The functionality and interface in each system model will be mentioned in this chapter too.In the fourth chapter, the selection and implementation details of the key techniques in Message Center will be discussed, including data storage, rich client and message delivery.In the fifth chapter, steps to improve the system will be discussed. The problem of integrating Siteminder ASA security solution with Message Center Flex and the method of improving system performance by utilizing cache and other related techniques both will be discussed in this chapter. Experiment result will also be provided.At last, in the sixth chapter, the summarization of this thesis and the future work will be introduced.
