3-D reconstruction is an important embranchment of CG, and is widely used today. So far, there is no general technology to solve the problem. Our system, introduced in this paper, is oriented at cheaper home use. It is an application based on shape from silhouette algorithm of passive reconstruction, which provides ideal low complexity and strong robustness for home use. It uses an array of photos and related DLT parameter of each photo, to produce a 3-D modal with texture. This paper will introduce each module of the system according to the sequence of execution. It will describe key technologies of each module and our enhancement. The research is mainly focused on chapter 4 and 5: 3-D reconstruction and texture mapping. Innovations like algorithm from octree to mesh, vector smoothing, photo preprocessing, selective refining of triangles, and modified techniques like photo clustering, weighed average of vertex color are introduced in this article.
