With the development of network application and each university scale expansion, the campus net have more and more users, carrying more and more services, the simple construction pattern of campus net has already no longer suited to the network demand. In order to alleviate above the pressure, thecampus network needs to promote to new campus network ----- the NextGeneration Campus Network (NGeN). The next Generation Campus Network (NGeN) is the inevitable trend of the campus network , its core is "the service actuation", and has the high band width and the high reserves (needs to apply 10GB Ethernet), the entire equipment application, the IPv6 Protocol application, more paying attention to the operation management, supporting the multi-services movement.The paper discusses the new technology applicated in NGeN through the analysis of the characteristics NGeN has and the question which the campus network has. And compare 1GB Ethernet and 10GB Ethernet, the IPv4 and the IPv6. 10GB Ethernet technologies and the IPv6 in NGeN have done the thorough comprehensive research. Analyzed The new technology of 10GB switch in to applied to the development of 10GB Ethernet and the function router should have to IPv6 .according the current situation of the 10GB Ethernet in the campus network, the paper produces the case that 1GB Ethernet campuses net promotes to 10GB Ethernet campuses net, in the article I study many kinds of strategies of the promotion that the IPv4 promotes to the IPv6, and refer to respective good and bad points, in order to study the campus net to promote to NGeN. And do the thorough research to the current commonly used 6to4 technology.The IPv4 to the IPv6 transition strategy and the case produced in the article have been applied initially to the campus net, and provide one good method for the promotion of the current campus network. But the true achivement needs tothe long process of experiment, believe the new technologies will be able to been applied to each campus soon.
