Wireless ad hoc network is a new kind of wireless communication method. In this method, the whole network has no fixed infrastructure, and every node plays roles of both host and router. All these nodes are mobile and keep the link with other nodes. This is a logically construction method. Like fixed network, wireless ad hoc network is often attacked by the outside malicious nodes and inside compromised nodes, and the nature of mobility of ad hoc environment magnifies their effects. So nowadays, resolving the security problem is one of the hotspots of ad hoc network research.Security Routing has advanced the security of ad hoc network by improving routing protocols. It makes routing protocols have the function of defending against topological update and some attacks. SAR incorporates security attributes as parameters into ad hoc route discovery and enables the use of security as a negotiable metric to improve the relevance of the routes discovered by ad hoc routing protocols. Most of the protocols that have been proposed so far focus on discovering the shortest path between two nodes as fast as possible. The length of the route is the only metric used in these protocols, typically as hop-count. Some protocols trade performance and simplify management to obtain bounded sub-optimal paths to speed up the route discovery process, but there are applications that require security more than just the assurance that their route has the shortest length. In SAR, we embed our security metric into the routing discovery packets and change the forwarding behavior of the protocol, that is if the node can provide the required security, this node can be a node of the path, otherwise, it will be deserted.In this paper, I mainly introduce the SAR technology that applies in the ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector routing protocol. The AODV is modified from the view of security, and the security aware routing protocol of wireless ad hoc network is implemented. Then the new protocol is simulated on the OMNet++ simulator based on Windows 2000 platform.Firstly this paper introduces the base conceptions, status quo of development and the security problem of wireless ad hoc network. Then I simply introduce the class of wireless routing protocols. Then the SAR technology, AODV routing protocol and theimplement of SAR-AODV protocol on OMNet++ simulator are introduced. Finally 1 summarize the central problems and the trend of wireless ad hoc network, and discuss some methods and ideas of these problems.In this paper, the adhocsim module in OMNet++ simulator is used to design and implement the SAR-AODV protocol. Firstly I define and implement the module of wireless ad hoc node again, and embed security level as parameters into the nodes. Then the implement of the AODV protocol is modified, that is to modify the generation and handle of all kinds of control messages, and add the security level as parameters into the AODV control messages, and reach the aim of advancing the ad hoc network security in the routing discovery process.
