CNC auto-programming is the key technique for modern CNC system to be intelligent and integrated, representing the mainstream of CNC programming. It is also an important technique for CAD/CAM system. This paper studies an AutoCAD based CNC auto-programming technique, and develops a graphical CNC auto-programming and auto-layout system. Through the combination of ObjectARX and MFC, the system fulfills graphical auto-programming, code dynamic simulation and auto-layout techniques based on the AutoCAD graph and AutoCAD secondary developing technique. The system is mainly applicable for plasma / flame cutting programming and layout.Main contents of this paper:1) Discussion of the significance of CNC auto-programming, introduction of its history and stress at the problems that exist in current CNC auto-programming technique. A CNC auto-programming and auto-layout system based on AutoCAD is put forward.2) The CNC auto-programming and auto-layout system based on AutoCAD is designed with open system developing ideas.3) Research on the incision radius compensation algorithms and the double-circular-arc fitting algorithm of noncircular curve. Giving a new four-offsets-point algorithm and analyzing it in detail.4) Deep investigation of the auto-programming technique based on AutoCAD. Fulfillment of the design of cutting progress, part data managing, CNC code generation, dynamic simulation and auto-layout based on AutoCAD graph.5) Discussion of the intelligent theory of incision layout, introduction of current optimal algorithms. Deep investigation of an intelligent algorithm based on the combination of downstairs algorithm and state trial algorithm, and the algorithm is applicable for the cutting of irregular parts in AutoCAD.
