Satellite communication is one of the important communication technologies, and satellite mobile communication systems are parts of realizing global personal communications. Recently, satellite CDMA communication systems become one of the main research fields of satellite communication technologies. The paper addresses the link layer simulation of a relative complete satellite CDMA communication system, and based on the results of link layer simulation, we focus on system capacity analysis, considering ideal power control and imperfect power control. The system capacity is also analyzed in detail by using different call admission control algorithms. Chapter 1 introduces the basic concepts and the history of satellite mobile communication systems. The features of CDMA technology are analyzed and it's applications in satellite mobile communication systems are introduced. The research significance and the structure arrangement of the paper are given in the end of this chapter. Chapter 2 introduces the system simulation structure of satellite CDMA communication system, and provides the system parameters of the space segment and the ground segment. Considering the radio access part of the simulation system is based on IS-95 CDMA standard, this chapter also introduces the air interface of IS-95 CDMA standard. Link budgets of forward link and reverse link are analyzed respectively, which combine the link layer simulation results of different satellite elevation. Numerical results of the minimum satellite transmitting power to satisfy a certain BER requirement and the receiving power of satellite based on different user terminal transmitting power are provided in detail. Chapter 3 analyzes the link performance of satellite CDMA system in detail. Firstly, the satellite mobile channel model is described and realized. The statistical features of the channel model are verified by simulation to make sure that the simulation model can reflect practice situation as good as possible. Link performance...
