This thesis develops research work for the algorithms of parameters estimation for sky-wave over-the-horizon radar(OTHR). Through the signal model of sky-wave OTHR, the array signal processing algorithms are investigated for the estimation on parameters,including frequency and direction of arrival. The aim is to realize the inspection of sky-wave OTHR. The performance and applicable condition of the algorithms are analysed and compared carefully using computer simulation. The main work in this thesis can be summarized as follows: 1.Establishing the model of sky-wave OTHR By refracting from ionosphere, the sky-wave OTHR signal beam can be treated as many close point sources. These point sources have certain correlation. If adopting the model of point sources, the performance of estimation paratemers probably deteriorates. In order to simulate the practice set better, the point sources with different correlation can be token by a distributed function, so the model of distributed source certainly will introduced. 2.The research on algorithms for estimation on direction of arrival for sky-wave OTHR To detect the sky-wave OTHR signal, four algorithms for estimation on direction of arrival are studied based on the model of distributed source, and the maths formulae are demonstrated particularly. From the result of simulation, the performance for estimation is analysed and compared in algorithms. This chapter is one of the main content. 3.The research on algorithms for estimation on frequency and direction of arrival for sky-wave OTHR. Based on the model of distributed source, the parameters such as frequency, direction and distributed function being unknown, a estimation algorithm on directions of arrival and frequency is studied for sky-wave OTHR through a special antenna array. The complexity of the algorithm for parameters estimation is low. This chapter ia also one of the main content.
