The demand for higher switching speed of router has made more and more data packet forwarding decision function to be implemented in fact. The research of scheduling algorithm with high efficiency and its implementation is more and more important. We try to simulate the algorithm of DTR (Determined Tunnel and Round-robbin) .In Chapter 1, a summary of the development of router considered in the literatures is presented in this paper. It is generally introduced the developed actuality of router including basal pattern, systemic design, performance measured. Especially, we review the research of scheduling algorithms for crossbar switch, analyze and compare these algorithms in detail. In Chapter2, In this chapter we try to model and simulate switching fabrics . Firstly, we propose a general switching model, and describe its components. Then, we stress to discuss and evaluate its performance measured by throughput, time delay, lost ratio, and so on. And then we compared the parameter to other algorithm. It can be seen from the graph and the table ,all the data and testing proved its good performance.Lastly, total program has been offered for you to reference.
