For the rapid development of the embedded, handheld and wireless devices and the advanced design of related hardware and software, the embedded system is becoming a hot spot of the information industry. With the hardware resource improved greatly, the Embedded System application's function becomes more powerful, and its structure is also more complex. However, Developing on Embedded System is complex and prone to cause error with a lot of tools, such as cross compiler, burning tools, etc.. To simplify the operation, we have designed and completed an Integrated Develop Environment which is used for Embedded System. With the background of designing an Integrated Develop Enviroment which is based on Linux and used for MIPSX3 Embedded System, this thesis describes the theory of Integrated Develop Environment and the characteristics of Embedded System, analyzes the architectures of KDevelop and Qt, then design and implement ZLTSDK, which consists of text editor, project manager, cross compiler, burning tools and simulator. At First, this thesis describes the developing history and appliction prosperity of the embedded system. Then it investigates the theory of IDE and the specialties of Embedded System, and compares several existing ESDK. In chapter 4, it analyzes the architectures of KDevelop and Qt, which will be used during the ZLTSDK development. In chapter 5, it introduces the architecture of hardware and software, and then describes how to implement the important tools and integrated them into the ZLTSDK. It resolves some difficult problems and explaines some technologies in detail. In chapter 6, it introduces the simulator's architecture, memory management and instruction emulation. It also shows the successful result. At last, it gives some conclusions and foresight.
