Mffc / Mld-based And Struts Web Rapid Application Development Methodology

Since www technique was invented in 1990, the web application technique has been showing us its advantages and attracting our attention more and more. Web, which is mainly used as a tool to publish information at the beginning, is also directing itself to the application system. Nowadays, C/S structured web application system is taking place of traditional C/S structured application system.Because of the difference between C/S structured system and web application system, some matured developing methods that have been successfully applied in the development of C/S structured system, such as RAD, are not suitable for the Web. And the intrinsic advantage of the web application to the system development is not so noticeable because of this difference. RAD is one of the most influenced development methods in the C/S structured application development. At the same time, with the rapid development of the economy, the corporation informatization is tendency of the development of the business. And nowadays, the business changes so quickly that the RAD becomes the best approach of the systems development. So, now people are looking forward to new RAD for the web applications.Having done a deep research on the web applications' peculiarity, the author brings forward an approach of rapid application development for web application based on MFFC/MLD (Multi-Factor Flow Chart and Multi-Level Document) and Struts in this paper.This approach is called Web RAD. According to the approach, system analysis and design are based on the representation of process knowledge with MFFC/MLD. Then, the result is converted into code framework based on the technology of struts framework. Also, it generates a part of codes automatically by the code recycle mechanism. So that the system can be developed rapidly since the developer only need do a little programming for the detailed business logic. In addition, it gives an analysis and design for the IDE, the base of the Web RAD, and then develops the prototype system. In the end, it gives a simple sample.
