Robot assisted education means that robot is applied to teaching process, its function of practical operation and demonstration is brought into fully play, it can naturally interact with students and actively fit for students' individual need. Robot as the teacher can teach students, it's teaching will relate to interaction with students. Students interact with robot using human natural language, which requires robot to understand and produce natural language so as to interact with students. And that, automatic words segmentation is an initial, most elementary, avoidless technical phase of natural language processing, simultaneously it is also a hot issue studied by people.In the written Chinese, they are successively written between character and character, word and word, word has not obvious mark in the sentence. So, the chief task of understanding Chinese is that successive Chinese characters cluster is divided into word sequence, namely automatic words segmentation. Words segmentation is a process that successive character sequence is once again combined to word sequence according to definite criterion. As the basic of Chinese natural language understanding, automatic words segmentation is mostly applied to information retrieval, Chinese characters processing, speech processing, content recognition and analysis, natural language understanding, and so on. At present, academia mainly adopts computer automatic words segmentation to solve Chinese words segmentation.By the study of Chinese automatic words segmentation theory, this thesis develops a system of automatic words segmentation; this system divides up vocabulary related to in the system of robot assisted playing billiards. Firstly, field word bank is built by the database management system, Access.The word bank aims at the special vocabulary environment of robot assisted playing billiards. The vocabulary is embodied into word bank according to definite principle, in the process of the primary segmentation by the third party software of words segmentation along with manual statistic and manual correct; Secondly, this system is developed by the software of Visual C++ and makes use of DAO (one of the database access technique) to access billiards word bank built. During the development of the system, theproblem that Visual C++ 6.0 can't access Access2000 is solved; Lastly, due to the limit of special field of billiards, strictly speaking, word in the word bank isn't possibly word but words for segment, so the Maximum Match Method is adopted to process Chinese automatic words segmentation, the flow chart of automatic words segmentation is given in this thesis. Compared with other universal system of words segmentation, this system has mainly two great characteristics: one is speciality, this system specially aims at vocabulary in the field of billiards to segment; the other is high accuracy, due to speciality, vocabulary is limited, ambiguous meanings can't easily be produced.The development environment of this system is Windows2000, the tools adopted are Visual C++ 6.0 and Access2000 of Microsoft Corporation.
