The supervision of logistics is important part of the logistics information system. How to take advantage of the technique of location, of communication, of electronic map, and of computer information processing to supervise the logistics is very important. This paper investigates GPS/GSM/GIS and moving object database technique and design "the supervision system on logistics combined with moving object database and GPS/GSM/GIS and Internet ".The paper studies the GPS location and GSM communication (using SMS short message) systems, as well as the GIS (geological information system) technique. The system is integrated by GPS location system, GSM communication system and GIS map system, which takes advantages of GPS's full directions and precision, the GSM's wide covering area and low cost, and GIS's electronic map. The paper also studies the moving object database which is exclusively used to manage the moving object. The study includes the model of moving object database, trajectory management, uncertainty management, index, moving object query, etc. The paper also design the moving object database extension on the platforms of ArcView GIS and SQL Server2000. The enhancement includes the map in database, the representation of moving object, trajectory management and the query grammar of moving object .The queries includes logistics time-spatial character queries such as WHEN_ATS and CLOSET, and queries of logistics non-time-spatial character, and the supervision of logistics is based on the extension.Also the paper studies the architecture of MapCafe/ESRIMap/HTTP Server, use the internet to distribute the map through B/S mode .This enable the user anywhere to access the supervision system of logistics through the internet.Conclusively the system realizes a logistics supervision system characterized by GPS/GSM/GIS, moving object database and Internet accessing. The system and has been tested and used in Xindu, It can supervise the logistics with high efficiency.
