Management Information System Based On Multi-layer Structure

This thesis has expounded the development of a real application system - the management information system of Beike Languang Pipeline Gas Company at Qingyuan City. The utilization of new technologies and new tools has been emphasized in this development. The employment of ADO. NET, ASP. NET, and VB. NET from MicroSoft latest development tool Visual Studio. NET, in combination with SQL Server 2000 Database has made the software structure more rational, convenient, and practical, and has greatly improved the performance of the whole software system.According to the procedure of soft engineering, the thesis has expatiated the whole system in terms of system demand analysis, general design, design of database and its access, security design, C/B and B/S structure design, reporting table design. The general design includes system structure, software and hardware constitution, WAN (wide area network) connection interface. In the database design, the generating scripts for database and its key data tables, and the entity relationship among data tables are provided. As to database access design, the application of ADO.NET and the storing process for gas fee calculation was detailed. Due to the excellent functionality of ADO. NET and the adoption of the storing process, the performance of system access has been significantly enhanced. In the security design, the realization of MD5 encryption for database strings has solved the encryption problem of the password table.In the part of designing C/S structure, the conversion between database tables and files, and the development of the user controller are given. The conversion between data tables and files can help solve the data exchange problem between enterprises and banks. And the user controller eases the user interface designing. As to the B/S structure designing, I mainly talked about the difference in B/S designing, with an emphasison the programming of web identity authentication, web window data authentication, and the cash payment web module. In the reporting table design, the design and realization of result-inquiry-type and data-interface-type reporting tables was presented.The thesis has expounded the designing process of a management information system with a multilayer structure based on the combination of C/S and B/S. Due to the limited time and space, not every module was presented in its own details. However, the key parts, difficulties and the author's experience in carrying out the system have been described in details. All these could well serve as a helpful reference for other similar management information systems.
