Grid Computing is different from the traditional enterprise computing, which shares resources in an organization. Grid Computing is based on Internet, integrates network resources such as computing resources, data resources, equipment resources and so on. Grid Computing tries to translate Internet into a socialized computing infrastructure. Transportation Grid integrates existed transportation systems and facilities into Grid, so that entities in the transportation fields cooperate with each other and share resources because of the disappearance of single information island. In Transportation Grid, resources are distributed, autonomous, heterogeneous and dynamical, so that resource management with efficiency is a challenging problem. The problem is just the goal this paper will study.Actions of users in Transportation Grid are dynamic and sophisticated. Economic solutions are one valid solution of the resource allocation. Auction is a special way of market exchange. Buyers compete with each other so that resource prices are produced and the resource allocation is realized. Auction is a simple and valid mechanism of solving resource allocations among many selfish entities. Above all, the most excellent or approximate excellent answer can be achieved by auction. After studying resource management architecture home and abroad, this paper put forward the model of the dynamic self-adaptive resource management for Transportation Grid based on computational economy. The model introduces mobile agent technology, agent technology and computational economy into resource management for Transportation Grid. Under the requirements of user quality of services, by using economic leverage of double auction and under the cooperation of decision-making agent with cooperation and supervision, autonomous Agents send price messages with each other in order to negotiate purchase, so that resource management for Transportation Grid is autonomously adapted to changes in the environment. This paper devises a simple cooperative model for Transportation Grid and validates the feasibility of introducing Computational Economy into the resource management for Transportation Grid. The model of the dynamic self-adaptive resource management for Transportation Grid based on computational economy realizes the control of user QoS and has certain academic significance.
